Burrell Poe

Burrell Poe is the Director of the Goldin Institute’s Chicago Peace Fellows Mutual Aid program where he brings people together as a community of practice, learning, and working together to promote peace at a grassroots level. He has been actively involved in his community on the West Side of Chicago since he was 10 years old. As a U.S. Army veteran, Burrell has extensive experience as a nonviolence trainer, community organizer, and workshop facilitator. He is passionate about creating social and environmental justice throughout the world and has strengthened peacebuilding, compassion, and reconciliation from Chicago to Colombia and Uganda. He practically lives on his bicycle and is an enthusiastic composter.
