Alice Gachuzo-Colin is a longtime Springdale, Arkansas resident and passionate advocate for justice, equity, and civic engagement. A mother of three, she founded the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in 2018 to promote unity and honor Dr. King’s legacy.
In 2021, she served as a state delegate for the Poor People’s Campaign and made history in 2022 as the first Black woman to run for public office in Springdale. Since 2023, she has worked with Get Loud Arkansas as Civic Engagement Coordinator, registering voters and fighting suppression statewide.
